The profile photo on Wendy Lange’s Facebook account says it all: "I hate Iowa please buy my house!"

The 68-year-old Vinton woman is tired of the long, cold Iowa winter.

She wants to sell her house and buy a camper.

And her simple, yet powerful, message — spelled out in all capital letters above a photo of her in a snowy scene — has given more exposure to her listing than she could've ever imagined.

The photo has been shared more than 23,000 times. But going viral hasn't led to any offers on the $170,000 home yet, according to Lange's realtor Jami Gordon.

"I think people are more or less going 'Ha ha, me too. I hate Iowa because of these big snow drifts and all this ice and everything that's happening this year,'" said Gordon, a real estate agent with Keller Williams Legacy Group in Cedar Rapids. "I don't think it's going to have a negative impact."

The ranch home is 1,440 square feet with three bedrooms and two bathrooms and is entirely wheelchair-accessible. It sits on 0.37 acre in Vinton, a town of about 5,000 people roughly 30 miles northwest of Cedar Rapids.
