Fiery telenovela star Edith González dies at 54 after cancer fight
MEXICO CITY – Telenovela star Edith González has died at age 54 from ovarian cancer.
The National Association of Actors of Mexico confirmed the death of the “Corazón Salvaje,” “Palabra de Mujer” and “Mujer de Madera” star on Thursday.
"Our condolences to your family and friends," said the organization, of which González was a member.
The actress also stood out as for her work in such films "Salon Mexico", "Pero Sigo Siendo el Rey" and "Adiós, Lagunilla, Adiós"
González, born in Monterrey, Mexico, on Dec.10, 1964, announced her cancer diagnosis in 2016.
The actress is survived by her husband, businessman Lorenzo Lazo; and her 14-year-old daughter, Constanza Creel González, whose father is Mexican politician Santiago Creel.
